All Black captain Kieran Read has replaced Richie McCaw and his first major assignment is the Bledisloe Cup test match against the Wallabies at Sydney this Saturday night (August 20). Kieran supplanted Rodney So’oialo as the All Blacks first-choice number 8 seven years ago. He was brought up in the small town of Drury south of Auckland and was selected for the New Zealand under-17 cricket tournament side in 2002.
